Refuting Christian Prince "Zakir Naik The Most Smart Muslim Ever"

The Christian's allegations are on video here. He named his video "Zakir Naik The Most Smart Muslim Ever" out of sarcasm. In the first 3 or so minutes of his video, he basically showed Zakir Naik speaking about why Islam disallows worship places being built, according to the Islamic law. We urge readers to watch the 1st 3 or so minutes of his video, to know what Naik was saying & the context. In (Time Slice 03:32) of the video, he called Zakir Naik a "prominent Muslim scholar." This is false, because Zakir Naik himself said he's not a scholar:

"I am not a scholar, I am just a student of comparative religion."

In this video, Naik said:
"I am just a student of comparative religion." (Time Slice: 5:25-5:28).

He also said in this video:
"People say 'Dr. Zakir Naik - scholar!' - I DON'T consider myself to be a scholar. I consider myself to be a student of knowledge. If people call me scholar and if I continue, that doesn't mean I accept it. THEY consider me to be a scholar, I DON'T consider myself to be a scholar. I always refer to myself as a student of knowledge." (Time Slice: 5:12-5:32).

He said:
"In this video as you see, somebody asked why Muslims don't allow people to build in Islamic state, and notice in here, it says Islamic state, not Saudi Arabia. Which mean any Islamic state, if they establish really an Islamic state, they have to shut down all other religions, worshipping houses and everybody have to bow down to Allah. Simply he said is forbidden." (Time Slice: 03:38-04:02).

Reply:
An Islamic state is one run 100% by the Quran and authentic Hadiths. There is currently no place in the world which follows the Islamic shariah 100%. Places like Malaysia, Saudi etc follow parts of the Islamic law, not all of it. Also, establishing an Islamic state DOES NOT mean that all religions are shut down nor does it mean everyone is compelled to worship God. It merely means that worship places of other religions apart from Islam cannot be built. Even in an Islamic state, you can worship whoever you want and follow your own religion.

He said:
"Islam don't approve any other religion. Islam is one way to go, or you die. Even for Muslim: don't  think it's only against you as a Christian. Even if the Muslims if they go out of the line of Islam, they will torcher him, they will kill them." (Time Slice: 04:31-04:46).

Reply:
Just because Islam doesn't approve any other religion does not prevent people for following their own religion. As I said, in an Islamic state under the shariah, nothing prevents anyone from worshipping anything. It is simply the building places of other religions which is not allowed in shariah. Also:

Surah Baqara 2:256:
"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand- hold, that never breaks. And God heareth and knoweth all things."

Surah Hijr 15:2-3:
"Again and again will those who disbelieve, wish that they had bowed (to God's will) in Islam. Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them)."

Surah Kafirun 109:1-6:
"Say: O ye that reject Faith! I worship not that which ye worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. To you be your Way, and to me mine."

So for CP to claim "Islam is one way to go, or you die" is absurd and false. In addition, Muslims in an Islamic state who merely leave Islam peacefully are NOT to be put to death. There is no Quranic verse or authentic Hadith which in historical context unambiguously says this. But, if Muslim blacksheeps do such a thin, DON'T blame Islam, blame the Muslims because every herd has its bad sheep which is why you cannot judge a religion by the bad sheep. In contrast, it is CP's own Bible which issues the death penalty just for in believing and worshipping the LORD:

2 Chronicles 15:13:
"All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman."

Deuteronomy 17:2-5:
"If a man or woman living among you in one of the towns the LORD gives you is found doing evil in the eyes of the LORD your God in violation of his covenant, and contrary to my command has worshiped other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or the moon or the stars of the sky, and this has been brought to your attention, then you must investigate it thoroughly. If it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, take the man or woman who has done this evil deed to your city gate and stone that person to death."

So, all non Christians should be put to death, according to the Bible here. People must be killed instantly just for suggesting to worship anyone else than YHWH (the LORD) according to:

Deuteronomy 13:6-9:
"If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, "Let us go and worship other gods" (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him. You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the FIRST in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people."

Christians will now treat the Old Testament as outdated because they are under a new covenant. Yet, they fail to realize Matthew 5:17-20 and 2 Timothy 3:16 confirms the Old Testament. So, CP is a hypocrite here and has double standards.

CP then tries to refute Naik's 2+2=4 analogy (see here) but then throws a red herring by alleging a mathematical error in Surah Nisa 4:11-12 (that according to these verses, the sum total equals more than 1) which has already been refuted here. The short reply to this allegation is: Sahih Bukhari, Book 80, Number 724 shows us that after money is supposed to be given to those entitled to receive it, then AFTER THAT whatever is remaining is shared according to the Quranic amount given to others who are entitled to it. If you follow this rule, the sum total can NEVER equal more than 1.

CP blasphemes against the Islamic concept of God, based on his false mathematical allegation. He forgets that his own Bible is filled with mathematical errors (here and here) which no Christian can refute, because they have no evidence to back their replies up! Scholars affirm that these Biblical errors are because scribes used to write out numbers in words rather than numerical figures.

Then CP tries to prove from Surah Maidah 5:69 that Allah accepts other religions.

Surah Maidah 5:69:
"Those who believe (in the Quran), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians and the Christians,- any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness,- on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve."

CP stated in the Arabic, it doesn't say "scriptures" which he is right on that point. An accurate translation of this verse is:

Surah Maidah 5:69: Pickthall:
"Lo! those who believe, and those who are Jews, and Sabaeans, and Christians - Whosoever believeth in Allah and the Last Day and doeth right - there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve."

The verse says that if you are a Jew, Christian or Sabaen and believe in Allah, last day & do right, you will be saved. WHERE does this verse say Allah accepts other religions? NO-WHERE. Let us now examine the historical context of this verse:

Ibn Kathir's tafsir - Surah Maidah 5:69:
"The meaning here is that if each of these groups believed in Allah and the Hereafter, which is the Day of Judgement and Reckoning, and performed good actions, which to be so, must conform to Muhammad's Law, after Muhammad was sent to all mankind and the Jinns. If any of these groups held these beliefs, then they shall have no fear of what will come or sadness regarding what they lost, nor will grief ever affect them. We discussed a similar Ayah before in Surat Al-Baqarah (2:62)."

Maulana Muhammad Taqi Usmani - Ma'ariful Quran - Volume 3 - Page 216-217:

"In the first verse (68), the people of the Book, that is, the Jews and Christians were instructed to follow the Divine Shari'ah by making it clear that they would be reduced to nothing if they chose not to abide by the injections of the Shari'ah. In other words, if they do not adhere to the Shari'ah of Islam, all their achievements shall stand wasted."

"According to the consensus of the majority of commentators, the Sahabah and the Tabi'in, it means the Holy Qur'an which was sent for the universal community of inviters to faith - including Jews and Christians - through the (midmost) medium of the Holy Prophet. Therefore, the verse comes to mean unless you act in accordance with the injunctions brought by the Torah, the Injil and the Qur'an - correctly, fully and totally - no lineal or intellectual excellence of yours shall be valid or acceptable with Allah."

Pooya/Ali Commentary - Surah Maidah 5:68:

"Unless the Jews and the Christians sincerely follow the Tawrat and the Injil and the Quran, their faith is of no use. If they honestly refer to their scriptures they have to accept the Holy Prophet as the promised prophet mentioned in their books (see commentary of al Baqarah: 40), even after the omissions and additions they have made in the original revealed books of Allah."

Syed Maududi tafsir- Surah Maidah 5:68:

"There would then have been no question of their abandoning their religion in order to follow the Prophet (peace be on him). To follow him would have caused neither break nor discontinuity; they would simply have gone one stage further along the same road."

We can see this refers to those Jews, Christians who conform with Muhammad's law, because those who did that would be following the Torah and Injeel, since both the uncorrupted Torah and Injeel as well as today's Bible predictions of Prophet Muhammad. The previous verse even confirms this:

Surah Maidah 5:68:
"Say: "O People of the Book! ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord." It is the revelation that cometh to thee from thy Lord, that increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. But sorrow thou not over (these) people without Faith."

So, it's believing all revelations ORIGINALLY sent from God which includes the original Torah, Zabur and Injeel (which today we do not have). This verse also includes the last revelation (Quran) to follow, in order for Sabaens, Jews & Christians to be saved. Further reading: here. In the light of the Quranic and historical background, CP has been proven wrong again.

He said:
"Let me tell you why Muhammad he made this verse. Simply, in the beginning was a very weak person and he was trying to make people relax, so no-body go against. So whatever he see, he said no them: 'don't worry, you will be in heaven, I'm not against you. Yeah, we have the same God, don't worry about it you know. Christians, Jews, Sabaens. And even if you heard about the satanic verses. Muhammad he bow down to Lat, Manut and Uzza, and he worshipped them. Why? Because he want to make the pagans believing that he is appreciating their god, and he worship their god. So, they can believe him. You know, this guy whoever he see, he say I believe in your god. This is in the beginning, but when Muhammad he got his teeth, guess what? Allah only accept Islam." (Time Slice: 09:01-09:48).

Reply:
The verse he was referring to was Surah Maidah 5:69. Notice how he says in relation to this verse "in the beginning..." We know from historical facts (*,*,*) that this Surah was revealed NEAR THE END OF HIS LIFE. So this exposes the deliberate lie of Christian Prince. In addition, CP failed to show evidence that Muhammad agreed with the pagans gods. The alleged "satanic verses" story where he supposedly worships 3 pagan gods: this is historically FALSE and unauthentic (refer here). Quran also condemns these 3 pagan false gods:

Surah Najm 53:19-23:

"Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza, And another, the third (goddess), Manat? What! for you the male sex, and for Him, the female? Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair! These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which God has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord!"

Also, notice how CP says "when Muhammad he got his teeth, guess what? Allah only accept Islam." The verse in the video which he referred to here was Surah Imran 3:85. If CP is correct in this statement, we would expect Surah Imran 3:85 to be revealed after Surah Maidah 5:69. Yet, Surah Imran 3:85 was revealed in 3 A.H (*,*,*) then Surah Maidah 5 was completely revealed between 6 A.H. - 7 A.H (*,*). So, historical facts of the chronology of these 2 verses totally destroys and contradicts CP's false chronology allegation of what Muhammad supposedly did.

At the end of CP's video, he throws unnecessary Ad Hominem attacks, appeal to ridicule and emotion fallacies with no proof, which exposes his horrendous and un-Christian like behavior.
